iPhone 17e to launch next spring – new report confirms budget model
Back in February, Apple introduced the iPhone 16e as the official successor to the SE line, raising questions about whether the new “e” series would receive annual updates. Unlike the SE models, which had long gaps, the new name suggested a yearly launch cycle.
Now, a new report from Korea confirms it: the iPhone 17e is coming next spring. Interestingly, the new device will use the exact same display panel as the iPhone 16e, meaning any upgrades will be elsewhere – potentially in internals or design.
BOE, Samsung Display, and LG Display – all suppliers of the 16e display – are expected to supply panels again for the iPhone 17e, with BOE retaining the largest share of supply.
Apple is reportedly expecting to sell around 20 million iPhone 16e units this year, consistent with previous SE sales figures.
Current iPhone 16e prices:
- 128GB 8GB RAM – $529.97 (Amazon)
- 256GB 8GB RAM – $639.97 (Amazon)
